Attachment Therapy in Sherwood Park & the Edmonton Area
Understand how your earliest bonds still show up — and build healthier patterns.
What attachment therapy is
Attachment theory describes how the bonds we form early in life shape the way we connect with others — and ourselves. When those early bonds were inconsistent, frightening, or absent, we develop strategies to cope. Those strategies can work for a while, but they often create problems in adult relationships and sense of self.
Attachment-informed therapy brings those patterns into awareness so they can shift.
What it's used for
- Relationship anxiety, avoidance, or instability
- Fear of abandonment or engulfment
- Difficulty trusting or opening up
- Patterns that repeat across relationships
- Emotional self-regulation in close relationships
- Healing from childhood experiences
What to expect
Attachment work is often done through the lens of other approaches — your psychologist may integrate it with EFT, IFS, or CBT depending on your needs. Sessions are relational and reflective, helping you build both insight and new patterns for how you show up with the people who matter to you.
Ready to understand what's shaping your relationships?
Attachment patterns show up in every close relationship. If connection feels difficult, inconsistent, or painful, we can help you understand why — and build something different.
