Get to know Natalie

Sometimes there are moments in our lives where we just need some extra support and guidance to navigate what life has thrown our way. Whether that be due to the pressures of the roles we play in life (parent, student, partner, sibling, athlete, professional, etc.) or the sometimes uncontrollable situations that happen along the way (loss, life transitions, injury, trauma, etc.), I aim to be able to support you to move through these experiences with new ways of thinking and feeling about yourself.  I am a caring, empathetic, and genuine therapist who strives to make clients feel safe, understood, and validated in each counselling session, while also feeling comfortable to laugh or cry.

I have worked in the mental health field for over 10 years supporting people who are struggling with mental health, addictions, behavioural concerns, or struggling to help their children navigate mental health concerns. I have worked in public mental health for most of my career and have extensive experience working with complex mental health needs, including in inpatient settings. I love learning and taking new trainings to bring a fresh perspective and new supports to my clients.

I practice from a trauma-informed and person-centered approach to meet clients where they are at and tailor the counselling session to each person’s unique needs. This means therapy is not a one-size-fits all approach, and you are always in charge of your goals and treatment direction.  I integrate modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, Solution-Focused, and others, to help you feel empowered to make the changes you are seeking.

Taking the first step can be hard. I enjoy working with people aged 14 and up who would like support with a variety of challenges such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders, self-harm, trauma, self-esteem, interpersonal concerns, and parenting supports. I believe that everyone has the innate ability to create change, and I am privileged to welcome and support you on your wellness journey.

Why work with a student therapist?

A Master of Counselling Student is in the final stage of becoming a registered psychologist, which means they’re actively developing their clinical skills under close professional supervision. If you're looking for a thoughtful, collaborative, and affordable therapy option, working with a student therapist can be a great fit.

01

Lower fee structure

Student therapists offer reduced pricing, making counselling more accessible.

02

More booking flexibility

Shorter wait times and more appointment options.

03

Fresh, up-to-date training

They’re learning the most current therapeutic methods and bring a lot of energy, curiosity, and attentiveness to their work.

04

Built-in supervision

A senior psychologist reviews their work and supports them throughout, meaning you benefit from two professionals involved in your care.
