Get to know Adia

Hello! My name is Adia (pronounced A-dee-ah).

As a lifelong athlete, former national Muay Thai competitor, and coach, I understand the highs of peak performance along with the mental toll of high-pressure environments. Two years ago I tore my ACL and needed surgery, which forced me to transition from being a full time Muay Thai fighter to new passions such as pilates and dance. Although my competitive days are over, getting back to a place where I could mentally and physically handle casual training took a huge mindset shift. However,  I grew a lot during that time and I learned how challenging it actually is to navigate a major life transition and rebuild your sense of self.

My lived experience also drives my passion as a student counsellor. I use a warm, client-centred approach to help you build the psychological confidence and practical tools needed to handle stress, face hardships, and build confidence. Whether your goal is peak performance or just looking for more balance in your daily life, I am here to provide the support space and skills to help you make that happen!

Why work with a student therapist?

A Master of Counselling Student is in the final stage of becoming a registered psychologist, which means they’re actively developing their clinical skills under close professional supervision. If you're looking for a thoughtful, collaborative, and affordable therapy option, working with a student therapist can be a great fit.

01

Lower fee structure

Student therapists offer reduced pricing, making counselling more accessible.

02

More booking flexibility

Shorter wait times and more appointment options.

03

Fresh, up-to-date training

They’re learning the most current therapeutic methods and bring a lot of energy, curiosity, and attentiveness to their work.

04

Built-in supervision

A senior psychologist reviews their work and supports them throughout, meaning you benefit from two professionals involved in your care.
